We may be about to launch our new H.G. Wells themed Treasure Trail but there is another related event happening later on next month, The Lions Martian Race. It is a 5k, 10k or 21k race through the woods of Horsell Common near Woking, Surrey and is going to be held on on Sunday 30th June 2019.

The sandpits on Horsell Common were famously referenced in the H.G. Wells novel ‘The War of the Worlds‘ as the site where the Martians first landed. This race is in it’s fourth year and the route travels through the historic sandpits. It is organised completely by volunteers and all proceeds are distributed to local charities selected by the Woking Lions Club.

Join in, have fun and raise some money for charity, you never know who you will meet, maybe someone will even dress up as E.T.
